Research The portfolio of research to be undertaken in FUNAI consists of the following areas, among other themes that may emerge from time to times: Discipline-specific research areas, to be undertaken in all the disciplinary areas that make up the University. Entrepreneurship and Employability Centre The establishment of the FUNAI Centre for Entrepreneurship and Employability was approved by the erstwhile Vice-Chancellor on 30 July 2015 and ratified by the Senate on 5 August 2015. The Centre was established in line with NUC’s directive that all Universities in Nigeria should set up an entrepreneurship study centre. One of the distinctive features of our Centre is that it emphasis both entrepreneurship and employability thereby broadening students’ thinking regarding career options. The rationale for the incorporation of employability services to the Centre’s core mandate is that most graduates of Nigerian Universities are unemployable due to an overly emphasis on obtaining certificate rather than skill development. In a bid to groom students with the practical experience to make appreciable impact on the global economy on graduation, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, yesterday, launched its radio station, 104.7 AE-FUNAI FM. Speaking during a test-broadcast to the University community, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Chinedum Nwajiuba noted that the radio station was established to inform and educate members of the university community and its environs, train students of the University in particular, in modern broadcasting, stressing that students of Mass Communication would be the main beneficiaries of the station as it would be used for their hands-on training.
