FUNAI KICK-STARTS COLLEGE OF MEDICINE IN OCTOBER

As part of its academic expansion, the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi State is to kick-off its Faculty of Medicine come October 2017. This was hinted by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Nwajiuba during the University Management Meeting held on Monday, 9 th  January, 2017. The Vice Chancellor stated that the programme would commence by the 2017/2018 academic session, and stressed the need for the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences to be properly re-organized to be in tandem with NUC benchmark and as a precursor for the take-off of the Medical programmes. The Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo Ebonyi State (FUNAI) has concluded plans to run international collaboration with  some Ivy League varsities across the world. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Chinedum Uzoma Nwajiuba stated this recently in the University. These Universities according to the Vice Chancellor are ‘’Aberystwyth University and University of Edinburgh both in the United Kingdom, University of Leiden in the Netherlands, University of Lisbon, Portugal and a number of Universities in France through a collaboration with the French Embassy in Nigeria. ‘’These partnerships have the potential to make an impact on curriculum development, collaborative teaching programmes and research networks. ‘’The partnership will provide opportunities for staff and student exchange programmes, staff training secondment, research collaborations and knowledge transfer benchmarking.
